Authorities say details on how two eastern Iowa cousins died are being kept under wraps in order to protect the investigation.

According to the Des Moines Register, Evansdale Police Chief Kent Smock says the information about the deaths of 10-year-old Lyric Cook and 8-year-old Elizabeth Collins is something only the people who are responsible will know and that’s why they’re keeping it confidential.

The girls disappeared July 13th, 2012 from Evansdale and their bodies were found in a wildlife park in Bremer County on December 5th, 2012.

Smock says tests on the girls’ bodies are still being completed.
