The son of a central Iowa attorney will soon find himself in court facing a bank robbery charge.

Prosecutors confirm that Kirk Reisetter was arrested in connection with a September bank robbery in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The 24-year-old, who lives in Kearney, is the son of Dallas County Attorney Wayne Reisetter.

According to police Kirk Reisetter is charged with second-degree robbery, but he is only facing state charges. The trial date has not been set.
Prosecutors deny his father’s position had any influence on their decision not to file federal charges. Federal authorities could choose to prosecute him at a later date.
