SUSPECT ARRESTED: New Year’s Eve Stabbing

A suspect has been charged in a New Year’s Eve stabbing in Ottumwa.
Police were called to the 500 block of Kruger Street around 1:30 a.m. Officers found an individual with multiple stab wounds.  He was transported to the hospital for treatment.
An investigation led police to 16-year-old Duane Heifort of Ottumwa. He was arrested January 3^rd and charged with willful injury.

Heifort was taken to Wapello County Jail, where he is being held on $10,000 bond.
