According to the Des Moines Register, the woman says she drove northbound on South East Fifth, just north of Park Avenue when someone hit her vehicle from behind.

She got out to check out the damage.

At that point, the other driver pulled out a handgun and forced her into his vehicle.

The woman says the man drove around for several hours until he finally allowed her to get out of the vehicle in the 1500 block of Evergreen Avenue.

The woman says she left her purse in the man’s vehicle and ran home.

According to the police report, the suspect is described as a black male in his 50’s with corn rows, a beard, and visible mark in the web of his hand.

Police are still investigating.
