An Iowa grocery store is teaming up with an egg farm in the hopes of donating an entire semi-truck load of eggs to the Iowa Food Bank Association.
Starting Tuesday, for every carton of Sparboe eggs purchased at Fareway, the egg farm will donate one egg to the food bank.
The Iowa Food Bank Association feeds all 99 Iowa counties, they say 13.4% of Iowans are food insecure. Donations to food banks are often canned goods that don’t spoil, so fresh food donations are a big help.

Sparboe says it will take nearly 240,000 eggs to fill a truck.
