POLICE ASSAULT: Suspect Screws Up

An eastern Iowa man is facing charges of stabbing a police officer with a screwdriver. 

Waukon police officer, Chad Dugan was responding to an assault call at home just before midnight Saturday. 

When he entered the home, 60-year-old Raymond Nelson came at officer Dugan with a screwdriver.

Nelson is charged with two counts of assault on a police officer, as well as domestic assault charges for the original call. 

The officer was treated for minor injuries.
