The Des Moines school board is holding an emergency meeting Thursday night to discuss a plan to hold classes on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Students originally had MLK Day and President’s Day off, but those days will now be used to make up two snow days in December.

This week a group of students complained about the plan to the school board.

The board will meet Thursday afternoon at 5:15 at 901 Walnut Street to discuss weather make-up dates.
