ROBBERY CASE: Arrest Made In Hold-Up
Des Moines Police are investigating an early morning robbery, the second in just two days.
A man has been arrested after police were called to the Git N Go at 4900 Urbandale Avenue on reports of a robbery just after midnight Friday.
Police say the suspect came into the store with a knife. He took cash and a beer and left east bound.
The man’s car was found less than a mile away in a parking lot at 2815 Beaver Avenue.
Officers say witnesses reported the man had a butcher knife, but they could not confirm that.
They did find a pocket knife and the beer in the man’s car.
Police arrested 22-year old Mitchell Stites for first degree robbery.
Store employees say Stites is a regular.
The store does have security cameras and police plan to look at the video later today.
