Tom Vilsack will serve a second term as U.S. Agriculture Secretary.

The Obama administration announced Monday that the former Iowa governor would continue in the role for another term.

Vilsack, a Democrat, was appointed to head the Department of Agriculture by then president-elect Barack Obama in 2008 and was confirmed by the Senate in 20009.

Vilsack was Iowa’s governor from 1999 to 2007, serving two terms.
