The head of the Iowa Civil Rights Commission is being rewarded for her work.
Monday, Gov. Terry Branstad announced a $5,000 bonus was being awarded to Beth Townsend, the director of the ICRC.
Branstad says the bonus is well-deserved because of Townsend’s impressive work to change the culture of the ICRC into one that serves Iowans in an efficient manner. He also lauded her work to reduce the backlog of cases.
Townsend has also streamlined the complaint process time and increased the quality and timeliness of investigations.
