The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office says two people managed to escape a house explosion this weekend.

Beaman fire crews were called to 104 Wadaloup Street just before 8:00 Sunday morning on a report of a possible gas explosion.

When firefighters got there, they saw that the house had received extensive damage, including blown out windows. It took crews about an hour and a half to put out the fire.

Both of the people living there, Robert and Joni Sanderson, were not injured.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
