A Storm Lake woman says she’s not guilty of 15 counts of animal neglect, police say otherwise.

In early December, police were called to the home of 42-year-old Dawn Williams on a possibly burglary.

Once inside, police found the skeletal remains of 15 cats and a large amount of animal feces throughout the home.

Authorities say Williams abandoned the property 6 months earlier and left the animals locked inside.

Her trial is now set for April in Buena Vista County.
