DISTRACTED DRIVING: State Patrol Raising Awareness

State Farm will award a grant to the Iowa State Patrol Jan. 16. The $25,000 grant will be used to raise awareness about distracted driving.

The Iowa State Patrol will use the grant to purchase three distracted driving simulators. These simulators will be used to teach new and more experienced teen drivers the dangers of driving while distracted.

The Iowa State Patrol Safety Education Unit plans to present distracted driving programs across Iowa to various groups, including schools, civic organizations, churches, drivers’ education classes and businesses.
