Doug McDermott once came off the bench at Ames high school. He’s now a candidate for College Basketball Player of the Year.

Northern Iowa knows they can’t stop McDermott, but they hope to slow him down heading into Tuesday’s game.

The Panthers start with a quick lead, but that can’t hold it, they head into the break down by 5.

Then McDermott takes over, scoring 31 points.
