VETERAN IDS: Special Designation for Vets

As of Tuesday, veterans can request a special designation for their driver’s license or ID. The governor signed a new law in April of last year allowing the change.

Officials say businesses give discounts to veterans, but many require proof. The new drivers’ license will mean veterans can leave official military papers at home.

To get a license with the new designation, veterans need to bring certain documents to the drivers’ license station. A designation can only be added when a license is first issued or renewed.
