HOUSING MARKET: Prices, Sales Increase

Iowa’s housing market saw a big jump in December.

The Iowa Association of Realtors says the median sale price for a home was $125,000. Compared with December of 2011, that is a 7.8 percent increase in price.

More homes were sold too, over 2,500 sales were closed.

Overall in 2012, the IAR says prices and the number of homes sold was on the rise.
