SHOOTING CASE: Adults Plead Not Guilty To Providing Gun

The adults charged with making a loaded gun available to a 12-year-old says they’re not guilty of the crime.

Vickie Beckman and Charles Toomer entered a not guilty plea to the charge.

They’re facing the charges after a 12-year-old allegedly shot 12-year-old Michael Wells. It happened in Ankeny last September.

Wells is still recovering from the shot to the head.

The 12-year-old accused shooter is charged with reckless use of a firearm.

Beckman and Toomer’s trial dates haven’t been set yet.
