Police say a Marshalltown man took matters into his own hands when two juveniles broke into his home Wednesday night.

It happened just after 10:00 in the 300 block of North 12th Avenue.

Authorities say the homeowner, Alfredo Rodriguez, detained the kids and then called police. Officers found items stolen from Rodriguez in one of the kids’ backpacks.

Both of the suspects are facing third degree burglary juvenile complaints.

Authorities say the kids were cooperative and no one was hurt in the incident.
