An Ames man has pleaded guilty to prostitution charges following a major sting operation.

In October, the Polk County Sheriff’s office worked with state and federal agencies in a two-day prostitution sting focusing on drugs and human trafficking where more than 50 people were arrested.

According to court records 48-year-old William Woodruff pleaded guilty to the charges Wednesday. He received a deferred judgment, one year of probation, and a $625 fine.
