State Senator Kent Sorenson is being accused of accepting improper payments while he worked for Michelle Bachmann’s presidential campaign.

A former campaign worker sent a letter to the Federal Election Commission saying Sorenson was paid $7,500 monthly to serve as Bachmann’s state chairman.

Former Bachmann Staffer Peter Waldron says the payments were made through a separate political action committee.

Iowa law says state lawmakers can’t be paid to work on political campaigns.

Sorenson says he did nothing wrong.

He represents Madison and Warren Counties.
