The majority of Iowans didn’t make the trip to Washington D.C. to help celebrate President Obama’s Inauguration, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t celebrating.

The Iowa Inaugural Ball  was held at the Embassy Club Monday night.

Attendees got to taste some of the Obama’s favorite dishes from Iowa and Chicago. As well as watch the two official inaugural balls in Washington via a live feed.

The event was much smaller than the one they held four years ago, where more than 500 people attended.

In Washington, President Obama cut back the number of official balls this year to help reduce government spending, but dozens of unofficial balls were still held.
