BURGLARY ARREST: Suspect Caught Quickly
Polk County Sheriff’s deputies caught a man early Monday morning just minutes after they say he robbed a business.
Deputies were called to 5048 NW 2nd Avenue about 4:10 a.m. on a report of a burglary at Majestic Lion Antique Center. A witness directed them to the west side of the building then they found the suspect walking along NW 50th Place and took him into custody.
Deputies say 36-year-old Russell Halamar had items in his possession that linked him to the burglary. He is charged with first degree theft, second degree theft, third degree burglary, third degree criminal mischief and possession of burglar’s tools.
