BOONE SKATING: Rink Re-Opens

A Boone skating pond damaged by vandals earlier this month is ready to welcome skaters again.

Someone broke open a faucet near the town’s skating pond earlier this month flooding the pond and damaging the skating service.

But it will be ready for skaters again just in time for a fundraiser on Sunday.

People living in Boone are raising money to buy surveillance cameras to put up around the pond to catch anyone who tries to destroy the pond again.
