A Des Moines gymnasium is expected to be full of heavy hearts Friday night.

The Lincoln Railsplitters will dedicate their game to former teammate Kevin Kong.

This should have been Kong’s senior season at Lincoln, but he tragically drowned in the Raccoon River this past June.

The team and students will remember Kevin, and help his family pay off funeral expenses.

Anyone buying or wearing a Kong t-shirt will get into the game free.

Spectators can expect an emotional halftime ceremony with Lincoln homecoming King Kevin Johnson scheduled to sing and at least one surprise.
