Rep. Bruce Braley visited Grinnell Thursday afternoon to honor a college student.

The congressman spoke about the Grinnell College sophomore in Washington, D.C. on November 28th.

That was just after Taylor broke an NCAA record by scoring 138 points in one game against Faith Baptist College.

After being presented with the plaque bearing a copy of the congressional record of his achievement, Taylor and his coach took pictures with Braley.

Taylor says this honor is different from all the others.

“To be give an award by congressman is kind of a different feeling, it’s really cool it’s the kind of award that’s outside of basketball, beyond basketball. It’s really exciting,” says Taylor.

Taylor’s season came to an end in earlier this month when he broke his wrist.
