The Mahaska County Conservation Board is sponsoring an ice golf tournament Saturday.
Two-person teams will play nine-holes at the Russell Wildlife Area Ponds near Oskaloosa.
Ice golfers can feast on chili starting at noon before they tee off at 1 p.m.
The tournament is a fundraiser for a new $3.5-million environmental learning center.
Mahaska County Naturalist, Laura DeCook says the new facility is needed, “We are at Russell Wildlife Center now, this building… we have outgrown it… so we have some money to raise and we’re in the process of doing that.”
