HOT AIR: High Hopes For Balloon Pilot
A metro man took off on a 150 mile journey through two states Saturday in a hot air balloon.
The pilot’s mission; to give back.
“People have been affected by cancer in one way or another, everybody. And ya know, it`s a cruel and heartless disease.”
It took Tim Cloyd just four and half hours to make the journey through the winter air.
More than 30 crew members helped Cloyd take flight. He landed Saturday afternoon just outside Macomb, IL.
His freezing cold mission was to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
“It’s only 7 degrees and it will probably get down to 15 below but you know, what I’m going through its insignificant compared to what patients have to go through the suffering, every day of their life.”
So far Cloyd has raised more than $7,800.
