The latest addition to the Science Center of Iowa arrived in 38 crates. Sue the Tyrannosaurus Rex is the largest exhibit to ever travel to the Science Center. It took three semi-trucks to carefully transport the largest T-Rex ever found to Des Moines.

Employees are working to get the giant dinosaur assembled, but it requires a lot of heavy lifting. Employee Emilee Richardson explained, “Sue is the largest, most complete, best preserved Tyrannosaurus Rex ever found. She’s 42 feet long and 12 feet high at the hips. The skull alone weighs 500 pounds.”

The T-Rex exhibit will be on display starting Saturday, February 2. It is free with the cost of admission.
