LOLO GOLD: World Title For U.S. Bobsled Team
Des Moines-native Lolo Jones has two world championship titles in track and Sunday she added another world title in a different sport.
Competing at the World Championships in St. Mortiz, Switzerland the former Roosevelt Roughrider helped Team USA defend its gold medal in the combined-skeleton team event.
Lolo and driver Elana Meyers clocked a run time of 1:07.76.
The U.S. beat Germany by 0.24 seconds to win the gold. Canada came in third.
Lolo is a brakewoman for her sled. The hurdler was recruited to the U.S. Bobsled team following the 2012 London Olympics.
