Most Iowans can begin filing their taxes on Wednesday, but an administrative mistake could push that date for some filers.

State Officials mailed federal 1099 forms with the wrong tax identification numbers to 15,000 Iowa Medicaid providers.

The Iowa Department of Administrative Services is correcting the mistake and sending out new 1099 forms this week.

The form is used by independent contractors to show how much they made from a business.
