GOLDEN GIRL: Abandoned Dog Doing Well
Courtesy: North Iowa Humane Society
After nearly dying from neglect, a golden retriever is receiving love from around the world.
Goldie was left in her kennel outside a Forest City apartment when the tenants moved out. The pooch had no food or water and ate part of her tail to stay alive.
She is now being cared for at the Humane Society of North Central Iowa and is nearly ready for adoption.
The Humane Society told the Mason City Globe Gazette that they have received adoption requests from around the country. A woman in Australia has even sent in an application saying Goldie could live on her five-acre farm.
