GUILTY PLEA: Murder For Hire Plot

A Clear Lake man facing trial on charges he tried to hire someone to kill a teenager who accused him of sexual assault has pleaded guilty.

Alan Cannon entered the plea in Cerro Gordo County court Monday. He pleaded guilty to one count of solicitation to commit a felony, and prosecutors dropped a second count of the same charge, attempted murder charge, and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Sentencing for Cannon is set for February 11^th.

Cannon was found guilty in June of third degree sexual abuse.
