DEADLY FIRE: One Killed In Oskaloosa

One person was killed Thursday morning in a house fire in Oskaloosa.

Fire crews were called to 401 North A Street just before 4:00 a.m. When they arrived they found the home fully engulfed by flame.

Twenty firefighters worked through frigid temperatures to extinguish the flames.

One woman was able to escape the burning home and is in good condition. Officials have not released any names, but say the person who died was a 40-year-old female.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
