MURPHY’S LAW: Hawks Had To Win, Black Friday Football, Frustrated Broadcasters

Sometimes a win is a win. Take it, move on. Iowa had next to nothing to gain by beating a bad Penn State team, and the pressure to blow up the entire season with a loss. It was not pretty, but Iowa won.

Fran McCaffery put Melsahn Basabe into the starting line-up, moving Aaron White to small forward. Good move. White scored a career high 27. 

Iowa can’t even see the bubble yet, but a loss to Penn State, and the season would feel over in January…
