ROUNDHOUSE REUNION: Alumni Fundraiser

Anyone who ever played sports in Marshalltown is asked to come to the Roundhouse Friday night.

The town is holding a “Roundhouse reunion” for former athletes.

The event kicks off an effort to renew the 50 year old building.

The school district will spend more than $9 million in renovations with another $3.7 million coming from the community.

“It’s been an icon in our community and throughout the state of Iowa.”

The school’s athletic director says there’s plenty to update, including more locker room space and a new roof.

The school hopes to start the construction next June and have it completed by December 2014.
