The Des Moines school board has postponed its vote to close a middle school.

The vote to close Gateway School was supposed to be held at Tuesday’s board meeting, but there were enough questions and concerns that the decision was postponed until February 19th.

The district says the school is too expensive and offers the same international baccalaureate curriculum as some other Des Moines middle schools.

The plan is to shut down the school at the end of the year.
