Voters in Fort Dodge passed a levy to increase school funding.

Results from the special election show just over 3,000 residents turned out to cast their ballots Tuesday.

The levy will renew the current $0.67 physical plant and equipment levy and increase it by another $0.67. The money is used for things like school construction and equipment needs.

Just over 51 percent of people voted yes to the increase.

This same issue failed in a special election back in December.

**An earlier version of this post said the levy failed to pass, there was confusion over whether a simple majority was required to pass the vote. Sorry for the mix-up.
