Development talks are underway to build another casino in Iowa.

The proposed plan would build the casino in northwest Warren County, but first they are gauging support and gathering input from residents.

In 2004 Warren County voters rejected a joint casino boat project with Madison and Dallas counties.

Executive Director of Economic Development Jason White says Warren County has realized how important it is to involve the community.

If a casino is built, it would compete with Prairie Meadows in Altoona and Lakeside in Clarke County.

White says Warren County has lost out on opportunities being so close to Des Moines and this project is an effort to increase local spending and retain a larger workforce in the county.
