AGRIBUSINESS: Century And Heritage Farm Program

Keeping a farm in one family for just a couple of generations is a big victory, but imagine keeping it for five, six, or more.

 
The Iowa Department of Agriculture is encouraging eligible farmers to sign up for the Century and Heritage Farm program, and while its heritage doesn’t span an entire century yet, the program has recognized over 17,000 Century farms and nearly 600 Heritage farms. According to IDALS, those obstacles that farmers have overcome are worth recognizing.
