Des Moines police are making progress on a forgery case involving more than 25 suspects.

The case began in January when several law enforcement agencies in Polk County received reports of multiple forged checks at local banks. The investigation showed payment checks had been stolen from Crystal Clear Water in Des Moines on January 12th.

Police say the suspects re-printed the checks with different dollar amounts and different payees and then cashed them. So far, nearly $100,000 has been netted in the scheme.

Warrants were issued for 14 suspects at the end of January and police say they have four of those people in custody. Morice Jones, Karlos Goldman Jr., Garry Bragg, and Karol Mensink have all been arrested.

Additionally, police say five more people were arrested in connection with the case and charged with forgery. They are: Wendell Webb-Bey, Marshall Welch, James Brandon, Todd Harrill, and Tommy Jurl.

Police are now seeking seven more people and have issued warrants for: Giovanni Setaro, Jerri Cochran, Dominic Walton, Joshua Martin, Libert Euells, Sean Williams, and Timothy Hickman.
