OLDEST SCOUT: Birthday Coincides With Cookie Day

Friday is national Girl Scout Cookie Day, it’s also the birthday of Iowa’s oldest girl scout.

Dorothy Byers of Ottumwa turned 98 years old Friday.

She’s been involved with scouting since she was 12 years old.

She was the first Iowa Girl Scout to win the Golden Eaglette Award, the highest honor any Girls Scout can receive.
