More than 23 million people across New England woke up to a blizzard warning Friday and are preparing for what could be one of the worst snow storms on record.

The storm has already affected at least one flight going east at the Des Moines International airport as of Friday morning.

The 6.27 a.m. flight to Newark, New Jersey was canceled.

So far it’s the only flight but if you’re flying Friday, check with your airline before leaving for the airport to make sure the flight is still on time.

You can also check out flight delay and cancellation information on the Des Moines International Airport’s website.
