The Des Moines city council will discuss a plan to improve Gray’s Lake at its Monday night meeting.

Council members will consider adding a retaining wall along the northwest shoreline, which is eroding after years of flooding.

Without the wall, the road and utilities would be at risk of damage in future flooding.

The project is estimated to cost around $79,000.
