MORRISSEY ARRESTED: Parole Violations Lead to Jail Time
The father of one of the murdered Evansdale girls is going to jail for multiple parole violations.
Police arrested 36-year-old Dan Morrissey on Monday. They say he tested positive for meth, marijuana and amphetamines on Feb. 4, and he tested positive for drugs earlier in July and September. Morrissey also missed appointments at a drug rehab center and with his parole officer.
He’s being held in the Black Hawk County jail until his next hearing on Feb. 22.
Morrissey is the father of Lyric Cook, who disappeared with her cousin, Elizabeth Collins last July. Hunters found their bodies in Bremer County in December.
Authorities are still trying to determine who’s responsible for the girls’ deaths.
