Beginning May 4, the Blank Park Zoo’s new African exhibit will open for guests.

There you can see two new black rhinos. The rhinos are very rare.  Zoo officials say there are about 60 black rhinos left in North America.

The exhibit will fill two buildings and has several interactive options for visitors.

Other expansion projects the zoo will be working on include an entrance exhibit.

“It will have Bactrian camels from Mongolia,” said Mark Vukovich, Blank Park Zoo, CEO.  “They are 2,500 pounds; eight or nine foot tall. They’re very shaggy. They’re very healthy in both 20 below and 120 above, and they’ll be out year round.”

Work on the entrance exhibit will begin in March.
