PLANE CRASH: Pilot Dies From Injuries In Hospital

The pilot of a plane that crashed near Correctionville last year died from his injuries.

Seventy-year-old Gaylen Knaack died Monday at a Lincoln, Neb. hospital. Knaack had been hospitalized since the plane crash in December.

The National Transportation Safety Board says there was heavy fog the night of the crash. The plane hit some trees about a half mile from the grass runway.

Two passengers, Lee Schroeder and James Smith, both died in the crash.

Funeral arrangements for Knaack are pending.
