UNION ADDRESS: Braley Gives Gifford Ticket

Iowa congressman Bruce Braley is attending President Obama’s State of the Union Address Tuesday night, but he’s giving his guest ticket to former Arizona congresswoman Gabby Giffords.

His office says it’s so she can be surrounded by family members.

Giffords’ story is expected to be part of the president’s message on new gun control measures.

She was shot in the head during a campaign event outside a supermarket in 2011. Six people died in the mass shooting.
