BILL SIGNING: Tax Code Alignment

Gov. Terry Branstad will sign the first bill of the legislative session Thursday.

The bill will align the Iowa and federal tax codes.

Senate File 106 became necessary after passage of the Federal American Taxpayer Relief Act on January 1^st. We know it as the “fiscal cliff.”

The Iowa legislation is necessary in order to avoid delays in filing taxes and receiving refunds.

Branstad will sign the bill in his formal office at 2:30 p.m.
