TRIAL MOVED: Venue Change For Former State Trooper

The trial of a former state trooper accused of burglarizing a home has been moved to another county.

Mikel Yauk is accused of entering a woman’s house in West Union with the intent to commit sexual abuse in October of 2011.

He is charged with first-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Yauk’s attorney argued that the publicity of the case would make it hard for him to receive a fair trial in Fayette County.

A judge agreed and moved the trial to Black Hawk County.
