MAJOR SETTLEMENT: Toyota To Pay Iowa

The State of Iowa is getting a cut of a big settlement with Toyota Motor Corporation.

The settlement stems from allegations that Toyota concealed safety issues related to unintended acceleration.

Iowa is one of 29 states getting a portion of the $29 million settlement.

Toyota will pay the state $580,000 and change advertising tactics so their safety claims are backed up with sound data.

In 2009, Toyota recalled more than 37,000 Iowa vehicles for the floor-mat related issues.
